Chula is a telenovela magazine for adults that never existed on paper. Every lead is an AI character, and every novela is ours, from first scene to cliffhanger.

Who wrote all this

A small team wrote 16 women, each with a job, a city, a rival and a debt. We wanted to break the habit of reducing a Latina to an adjective, and the best way we found was to give each one a plot. The novelas are in Spanglish because the people we know talk that way. The rest is melodrama, measured carefully.

The name, and what it does not promise

Chula is an affectionate word, and here it is only a brand name. No lead is presented as less than she is. Each has a sexy portrait and the home page opens with a banner, but there is no video, no voice and no visits of any kind. Should any of this change, the capítulos page will say so first.

What this magazine will not do

• Pass a character off as a living person, or arrange contact beyond the chat.
• Auction your chats, or let an advertiser read them.
• Let anyone below 18 into a scene, under any disguise.
• Turn drama into pressure: here everything is consensual, or it is not a capítulo.

Writing to the newsroom

A person reads the mailbox listed at the foot of every page. Send a correction, a complaint or a suggestion for a plot twist, and expect an answer.
